Research Officer
Scott is an ecologist with a research background understanding ecosystem function and biodiversity. His PhD at James Cook University focused on plant decomposition, nutrient cycling and climate change in Australian tropical rainforests, and has since worked in numerous roles in research, academia and the public service.
Scott has strengths in field studies, vegetation, soil and vertebrate ecology, statistics and data science, and a broad interest in understanding ecosystems and improving conservation outcomes in a changing world. Scott provides research and administrative support in the McGeoch laboratory at Monash, focusing on understanding the status and trends of Antarctica’s terrestrial biodiversity.
